Today Mike, Amanda, Hunter and I went to tour the HGTV house on Kiawah Island in South Carolina. I must say it was beautiful and very well decorated! This is my panoramic photo that is bad. It is not a corner lot. Just my photo.
This blog is for all the HGTV bloggers who asked for pictures and for all the others who want to see.
Below is the side yard of the house on the other side of the driveway. Another house will be built here that the HGTV Dream House will share it’s driveway with.
This is a view of how close the house next door is from the front porch on the opposite side of the driveway side.
The entry way was beautiful but a little shorter tan I thought and the art work was bigger than what it looks like in the videos on the HGTV website. My husband, Mike, walked in and started opening closets and doors until someone told us we couldn’t.
The kitchen/dining room was very beautiful and there was a man working in there that was FUNNY!
His humor was great and I played right along with him. He showed us the refridge, the dishwasher, cabinets, drawers, windows etc. . Â Apparently we could not open or touch anything but the workers would do it for you and explain what it was or how it was made.
The guy in the kitchen was so entertaining that I forgot to take pictures. He told me since I was the loudest and funnest that I could jump out the window into the pool. I asked him if he could give me a knees to jump up on. Had to be there but he was funny.
The pool is 4 feet deep and not very wide but perfect for my 4 grandchildren.
The butlers pantry is larger than it looks on the video and I got them to move the curtians so I could see under……
And then Amanda and Hunter smiled for a picture!
I really liked the laundry room. The colors in there made you want to do laundry!
Loved the dog grooming tools.
Next was the living room/great room which was roped off and you couldn’t go over by the fireplace but was as beautiful as pictured!
These cool things were on the walls for operating thing in the house.
Then the master bedroom. It was a bit small due to the furniture it had in or the 7 people but the view was BEAUTIFUL!!!
This is what is outside the bedroom window and where the neighbors to be will have their house.
Then upstairs where I did find and iron to go with the ironing board. HGTV has thought of everything.
The entry ways into the bedroom suites were big with large closets. I loved the bathrooms but would hate to keep the water spots off the showers. They should have made them the blue green glass that they put around the toilet in the master bedroom.
And the bunk room was really cute. Looks like a little boys room to me. Can be very private by pulling the curtain. Some little kids would love it!
The door above the bunk room is storage space where a/c and heat are kept, per bunk room person. I don’t know how you can get inside the door because it is so high.
This bathroom is georgeous! LOVE, love the feel of this room! The bathroom floor in the upstairs bathroom was heated, per the guide. I would love to have that at home.
Very cute room. I called it the girls room since the bunk area looks like boys.
Beautiful bedroom. The guide was busy so I didn’t get to ask any questions.
The Loft area was bright, colorful and beautiful!!!
The stairs that lead to the basement. They are located right past the inside steps behind the first door on the left.
The downstairs was as beautiful as pictured. A great space for kids and adults to play and hang out. You couls even have a roller rink for skating down here.
The floor in this part of the outside area looked like gravel but it is a rough cement looking floor.
I love all the outdoor living space. I thought it was strange that a gate was at the bottom of the steps leading out to the marsh. I asked if it was to heek alligators out and they laughed my question off.
I think it was too keep all the 4 legged friends out!
Mike and I are on the back deck with our footies on. Something that everyone must wear who enters into the house. And it was cold!
A beautiful house indeed! A beautiful location to. The island is well kept and has restaurants, a grocery store, gas, urgent care, book store etc. between Kiawah and Seabrook. They plan functions monthly. It is all rightt Even concerts on the grass! It would be a great place to live or have a second home.here!
Man, this is like my dream house!
Yes! It is beautiful! I would love it too!
Looks like paradise! I’ve only been to Kiawah during the late spring and summer months (favorite family vacation spot), so it’s a little different to see you guys wearing coats! Thanks for sharing your pictures and comments, hope you and your family had a great time.
Thanks so much! It was beautiful and cold but we are going to Seabrook Island this year for vacation which as you know is right next door……
Yes I do. We’ve never stayed there but have toured it and taken the dolphin tours from the nearby marina. Love the road in with the spanish moss hanging from the trees too. Also stayed at the Isle of Palms as well. For my money, the Charleston area can’t be beat. Enjoy!
Thanks for sharing, great pics!
