I must say I love fall! Spring and fall make me feel so refreshed and like a new beginning is taking place. I love the blooming flowers in spring and the colored leaves in the fall. I must confess that summer is my favorite season because I love the beach!
Well, back to fall… In the cookie recipe that follows you can add 1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon and make your cookies taste like fall foods do. That warm taste that just makes any ones day good.
Linda’s Chocolate Chip Cookies
2 ¼ cups flour
1 teaspoon of baking soda
1 cup oatmeal
Be sure to add the cinnamon if you would like!
2 sticks of soft butter
¾ cups raw sugar
¾ cups light brown sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 bag semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 cup chopped walnuts (optional)
In bowl mix flour, baking soda and oatmeal and set aside. In large bowl mix butter, sugars and eggs until creamy. Add vanilla. Slowly add dry ingredients. Make sure all ingredients are mixed well. Stir in chocolate chips and nuts. Make ping pong ball size balls and place on cookie sheet. Space cookies about 2 inches apart. Bake at 325* for 11 to 13 minutes.
