I have to admit I could live on bread, cheese and wine for the rest of my life. A great appetizer for me usually has some type of bread on the plate. I love artisan bread, cheese and prosciutto platters or bruschetta and bread, YUM! I told you I could be Italian.
Italian dishes around here always require bread and oil. I love to add different things to the oil that has wonderful flavors.
This recipe is one of my favorites:
Dipping Oil:
1 garlic clove chopped
¼ teaspoon garlic salt
¼ teaspoon red pepper flakes
¼ teaspoon Italian seasoning
2 teaspoons fresh grated parmesan cheese
¼ cup olive oil
A little bit of cracked black pepper and salt to taste.
Put all ingredients in a small dipping bowl or on a small plate. The longer it all marinates together the more flavor it has.
Everyone that comes for dinner loves this oil. Some people even pour it over their salad. Enjoy!
