Chick Peas anyone?

Garbanzos Beans and Chick Peas are the same thing, right? Right!

Today I made Curry Chicken for 20 people at an office that we work with in my husbands business. I think it was the biggest pot of food I have ever made. I had a few cans of Garbanzos Beans left so I had to make something with them. I decided to make a snack. I took the beans and drained them. I then placed them in a single layer on a cookie sheet and sprinkled garlic salt and curry powder over them (I was already in the curry mood).

I mixed them all together with my hands and then made a single layer again. I then baked them at 325 for about 45 minutes. You could fry them in oil and it maybe quicker but that does add a lot of calories and for a snack I chose to bake.

They were so good that I couldn’t keep Cohen out of them (Not that I tried). If he will eat something good I let him eat all he wants. The Garbanzos beans have 6 grams of protein and 7 grams of fiber per 1/2 cup!

These would also make a good side dish to the right food but for us they were a great snack by then hands full! By a weight watcher calculator, the snack is 3 points.

  1. What did they taste like? I am trying to find high fiber, low sugar, low sodium, yet filling snacks for Bill to eat. With his high blood pressure & diabetes it’s a struggle. I know bean are always a great choice.

    1. It taste good to me but I like curry. I like them a little crunch and they are VERY filling. I drink water with them and it really fills me up. You can refridgerate them but I like them warm better. Try it and see. i am sorry Bill has those health issues. I will keep that in mind and send you recipes I find or come up with.
Let me know if I can help you with anything.
