Chocolate is on of my all time favs!!! I found this recipe on the Hershey’s Cocoa box. This is not my recipe but it is extremely moist and yummy!
Hershey’s “Perfectly Chocolate” Chocolate Cake:
2 c sugar
1-3/4 c all purpose flour
3/4 c Hershesy’s Coca
1-1/2 tsp baking powder
1-1/2 tsp baking soda
1 tsp salt
1 c milk
1/2 vegetable oil (I used butter)
2 tsp vanilla extract
1 cup boiling water
Heat oven to 350*. Grease and flour 2-9 inch round cake pans. Combine all dry ingredients in a large bowl. Add eggs, milk, oil (butter) and vanilla; beat on medium 2 minutes. Stir in boiling water. The cake mix will look VERY thin. Pour into pans and bake for 30-35 minutes. Cool 10 minutes and remove from pans. Cool completely befor icing.
“Perfect Chocolate” Icing:
1 stick of butter or 1/2 cup
2/3 c Hershey’s Chocolate Cocoa
3 c powdered sugar
1/3 cup of milk
1 tsp of vanilla
Melt butter and stir in cocoa. Alternately add powdered sugar an milk beating on medium speed. Add more milk if needed. Add vanilla. Makes 2 cups of frosting.
*I usually add crushed walnuts to the top. But in the above picture I culd not because someone was allergic to nuts that night at dinner. I just shaved a little chocolate.
